Yggdrasil Gaming Ltd. is an ISO-certified private company that goes by the name Yggdrasil Gaming or simply Yggdrasil. Fredrik Elmqvist founded it in 2013. Other key persons running the firm are Frida Gustafsson (CFO) and Björn Krantz, the former NetEnt CEO, who is now CEO and head of publishing at Yggdrasil. Its headquarters is in Sliema, Malta, while the development office is located in Krakow, Poland.
Within two years of its founding, the casino software company had already opened branches in Gibraltar and Sweden, and in 2017 it embarked on the markets of Georgia, Denmark, and Italy. By 2018, the company had made nearly €27 million in revenue. Having partnered with RushBet, a Columbian gaming platform, Yggdrasil finally extended its services to Latin America in 2022.
Licensing and Languages
Yggdrasil is one of the live casino software providers with gambling licenses from multiple jurisdictions. Their first permit was granted in 2013 by Malta Gaming Authority. In 2015 the developer was certified by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission. Again in 2016, they were authorized by the Gibraltar Licensing Authority and the National Gambling Office of Romania. Their Isle of Man license is the latest permit warranted in 2019.
The software provider’s games are available for play in more than 30 languages; hence they appeal to a greater audience than their competitors, who only offer a few dialects.
